Many people with EDs are also on Antidepressants, so here is some information concerning the different ones.

When choosing an antidepressant, you should always discuss the options with your doctor. Each drug has both positives and negatives. You must also decide if you want to use an SSRI (selective serotonin uptake inhibitor), which regulates your serotonin level, or a non-SSRI. Some common SSRIs are Zoloft, Paxil, Celexa and Prozac. Some non-SSRIs are Wellbutrin* and Effexor.

*Those with EDs should NOT take Wellbutrin. EDs cause an electrolyte imbalance within the body, and Wellbutrin also effects the electrolyte balance. Risk of seizure is a possible side effect of Wellbutrin, and that risk is drastically increased when a person has an ED.
